Welcome to Premier Angling's 7 - Day Bristol Avon River Diary.

The aim of this service is to assist you, the angler when conditions are changing - either for better or worse !

My temperature readings and view of conditions are taken daily from just above the town bridge in Chippenham and are also based on what I see on my daily trip to the shop as I pass and view other parts of the Avon downstream at nearby Staverton & Melksham.

REMEMBER :- my temperature reading is taken mid - river , mid flow and will be higher than that taken in the margins where there is little or no flow. Therefore more accurate as far as the temperature that the fish are encountering.

If we can save you a wasted trip by letting you know how bad it is or give you the incentive to grab your kit because it's 'spot on', then we will have achieved our objective - that is to give the angler his or her best chance of a successful trip on our local waters, the Avon.

Bright day and warmer - cold breeze has gone.	1,032mb - falling - light north westerly breeze - temp. tonight getting down to 2 degs. ( not too bad ) bright sunny days for the next 4 or 5 days with only the slim chance of frost. Enjoy the weekend !
11th MARCH THURSDAY	6.5	44.0	8.0	Green - margins VERY clear.	Near normal - pace / flow slowing.	Some sunny periods , dry but a little on the cold side.	1,024mb - falling slightly - a brighter and slightly warmer day again tomorrow and the weekend set to be warmer and remaining dry - looks good !
10th MARCH WEDNESDAY	7.0	44.O	6.0	Green - margins clear.	Near normal - pace / flow - slowing.	Dull , Grey ans cold northerly breeze - brighter later and a little warmer.	1,026mb - falling - light north easterly breeze for the next 4 to 5 days , staying dry with a lesser chance of frost as the week goes on. Should be a reasonable end to the season on the river.
8th MARCH MONDAY THURSDAY	5.5	42.0	5.0	Green - margins very clear.	Near normal - pace / flow slowing.	Hard frost followed by a bright sunny day but with a cold n/easterly breeze.
6th MARCH SATURDAY	7.0	45.0	7.0	Green - margins clearing.	Near normal - good pace / flow.	Light rain showers - feeling cold.	1,027mb - rising - light north easterly breeze - hard frost tonight followed by a bright day , max. 5 degs. - a similar day Monday and Tuesday & Wednesday a bit dull and cold.
5th MARCH FRIDAY	7,5	46.0	9.0	Green - margins clearing.	Near normal -- good pace / flow.Falling - fast pace / flow.	After a hard frost - bright and sunny - warmer thsn it has been for ages !!	1,0027mb - falling - light north westerly breeze - dull tomorrow with light rain possible ( no frost tomight ) bright and after a hard frost again for Sunday.
4th MARCH THURSDAY	6.5	44.0	7.0	Green - margins clearing quickly.	Near normal - good pace / flow.	Bright day but with a cold wind.	1,024mb - rising - light north easterly breeze - frost tonight followed by another bright sunny day but still with that north easterly breeze. Weekend pretty much the same - bright and sunny by day - night time frosts.
